Mowana Staff
Many factors shape the camp experience, and one of the most influential is the staff member assigned to work with you or your campers. We believe Mowana counselors are the kind of people you'll want as role models for your own kids.
One of our most important tasks here at Camp Mowana is to appropriately staff our year-round retreats as well as our excellent Summer Camp program. All staff members go through a rigorous qualification process including background and fingerprinting checks, and participate in a comprehensive staff training program. Our summer staff are primarily college-aged young adults hired for their abilities to share their faith and work with children. They work as cabin counselors, lifeguards, kitchen aides, or maintenance assistants. Two full weeks of training before each summer season help our Christ-centered, camper-focused summer staff members prepare to care for your campers physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Many go on to careers in teaching, counseling, and pastoral work.
